I know this is sort of cheating, but how could I not post this "photo" (iPhone screenshot) of the breaking news alert I got from ABC announcing the death of the King of Pop??? (Disclaimer: Photo has been edited to black out my last name, obvs.)
PBS interviews Rabbi David Saperstein at the Believe Together coalition's interfaith service for health care reform. The planning aspect stressed me out juuuust a little bit, but I was proud to have been a part of the event.
My grandma took three of my friends & me to dinner at my favorite diner, Open City. And then we waited forever for a bus because we were both wearing sandals too impractical for walking a mile. Laaaaame, but the QT was great.
My grandma & I got a liiiittle lost over on the Wisconsin side of Cleveland Park (which I do NOT think should be considered Cleveland Park). She needed quarters so we could get on the bus, so we had to stop by the local (ghetto) Giant & ended up doing some light shopping. Our cashier's name was Charif! You know: "Rock the casbah, rock the casbahhhh." Anyone?
Messing around with my coworker's daughter. How cute is she?! She drew me a picture, complete with smiley face stickers, then spent a good long time taking an array of photos of herself on my camera.
Trying to remember to keep taking my photos! It's sometimes starting to feel like a chore, but I truly think I'll be proud of myself if I can keep it up all year (save those two damn days I've forgotten, & probably a few more to come).
Met up with afewofmyfavoriteDCbloggers for a night out in AdMo - followed by my first strip club experience! Eek. Here's me & the lovely PQ at Reef before the night got too crazy.
Forgot the 10th or lost the photo in the abyss of my cell (why don't iPhones do time/date stamps?!). This one's from a summer happy hour at Big Hunt to welcome two new coworkers to our office & my friend's girlfriend into town. I was too hopped up on muscle relaxers (prescription, I promise!) to drink, but it was nice to finally get a happy hour in.
My best friend & her husband were in town from Tennessee visiting her aunt & uncle. We went to see "Up," which made me cry & luckily did not make me vomit (I'm not typically too down with 3D). And yes, we used flash. In the theatre.
I'm not sure this will work out, but it's worth a shot. Many thanks to Jaime over at Barks Blog for getting me started on this. I'll be trying to take a pictures every day of 2009 to document my year in photos -- each photo will, hopefully, reflect my day, in some small way. Maybe I'll include explanations & maybe I won't; maybe they'll be posted the day I take them & maybe they won't. But I will try really, really hard to make this actually happen. I love the idea of looking back on a year of my life & remembering it not only through mental images but through real, tangible ones as well.
