I tried to go outside today, swine or no swine. Happy Halloween, from the Dupont Hilton!

Oct. 21st, 2009

It might be the swine, but don't worry - I've got quite the stockpile of "get well soon" supplies. Tea, water, Chapstick, cough drops, Kleenex, Dayquil, Nyquil, "Law & Order: SVU." I make this look gooooood.

Oct. 20th, 2009

I SAW HANSON LIVE! God, it was the best thing ever. Seriously. It was a dance party. I am so happy, even retroactively. Zac Hanson, I still love you. I don't care if you're someone's father.

Oct. 17th, 2009

The first stop on the Great DC Brunch Tour! Ten of us made our way to Creme on U Street for (on my part) a delicious waffle, crispy breakfast potatoes & thick bacon. AMAZING.

I love when my friends become friends. Past coworker, meet current coworker. Hit it off. Enjoy!

Oct. 10th, 2009

My friend Joanna scored me a discounted ticket to HRC's National Equality Dinner, where special guests included Gavin Creel, the cast of "Glee," Lady GaGa & President Obama! Swankiest night ever.

A little blurry but you get the picture. Stay class, Wonderland Ballroom.

Oct. 8th, 2009

I love this picture - I wish I'd taken it on my camera, instead of just on my phone. On the right side, what I meant to photograph, is a father showing a picture book to his young son in Kramerbooks in Dupont. What I didn't realize until later is that to the left, outside the book store, is a homeless man holding out a cup to passersby. He's there a lot - he's missing one of his hands.

Oct. 6th, 2009

Sukkot dinner with four of my faves (two not pictured, obviously), at the boys' swanky new apartment. Like real adults, we all had a cup of tea after the meal. Yeah, we're cute.

Oct. 4th, 2009

Things I sometimes eat that are sort of (read: absolutely) disgusting: Lender's bagels with melted American cheese slices. I used to call them "bagelwiches." Love.

Oct. 1st, 2009

A friend gave me a free ticket to a sneak peek of "A Serious Man," the uber-Jewish new flick from the Coen Brothers. It was one of the best movies I've seen in a loooong time - & the lead actor did a Q&A for us at the end!

Sept. 30th, 2009

Won free tickets to a Regina Spektor show. It was incredible... that is all.

My boss testified at the ENDA hearing before the House Ed & Labor Committee, & I had the honor of sitting in the front row. Amazing. Can't wait until this bill passes.

Sept. 22nd, 2009

Headed home from a Walkmen show at the 9:30 Club with friends, I encountered this fun sign outside the Velvet Lounge.

Sept. 21st, 2009

Buds & beers. Big Hunt.

BEST KUGEL EVER. Made by my friend Elissa for Rosh Hashanah. She then sent me home with leftovers & the recipe so that I can make it for my family at Thanksgiving!

Sept. 19th, 2009

Love me some inspirational graffiti. I think this one was in a bathroom?

Sept. 18th, 2009

This little PETA piggie tried to serve me a vegetarian sandwich on the streets of Chinatown...

Sept. 17th, 2009

The washer & dryer setup at the new place is INFINITELY BETTER than at the old one. Small pleasures.

Busy day at Firehook, where my favorite soup is served - butternut squash!

Sept. 10th, 2009

My bearded boss chats up Rep. Howard Berman (D-CA) on the steps of 6th & I Synagogue in Chinatown while a Jerusalem Post reporter looks on. Swanky, eh?

Sept. 9th, 2009

For the first time in two years, I have roommates! Meet Jason & Gavi. Yes, they're a couple. Yes, I'm Ted Moseby.

Sept. 8th, 2009

Sept. 7th, 2009

Spending some QT with my mama despite a super-quick trip home. Of course, I made her take me to Rockne's, my favorite restaurant on earth. She's a good sport for always going there despite not liking it nearly as much as I do.

Sept. 6th, 2009

They've got friends in low places...

Sept. 5th, 2009

Skipped a few days, huh? This is Austin, my friends Mark & Audra's adorable little man. He's a year & a half & I had the honor of being a bridesmaid in his parents' wedding!

Aug. 31st, 2009

New room! Cute, huh? Working on it.

Aug. 30th, 2009

Preparing to leave my single yet roach-infested apartment... mixed emotions!

Aug, 23rd, 200.

Before I moved, I spent a few days getting back into stationary-making. I used to collage like crazy but haven't done it much since moving. It was cathartic!

We interrupt this program...

I'd been feeling guilty about missing so many days. I've still been taking pictures, but not as often as I'd planned. I've misplaced some, lost track of the dates that accompany them, & I wasn't going to post any until I could sort them out. But there's no way I'll remember now.

So I'm going to start back up. I'll post what I have labeled, and then I'll keep it going - one every day until the end of the year.
