I bought three Mary Higgings Clark novels & a copy of the Torah for just $1.30 at the Cleveland Park Library's book sale today. SCORE.

Partay! Yes, this is the face I ALWAYS make in photos. I'm pretty good at ruining them, but this one is somehow still cute.

Return of everyone's favorite bromance! Two of my best friends & former coworkers reunited for a Thursday night dinner & happy hour at RFD in Chinatown. So much love.

Watching "Hannah Montana" & writing a long & detailed letter to Chris, my high school boyfriend & current pen pal. Yes. pen pal. The real, hand-written kind. OK, so sometimes we type them, but we always send them by snail mail. We're legit & old-school like that.

My "little brother" came to visit. I love him sooooo much, & he's not even mine! Seriously, having him in DC, even if only for about 15 hours, made my weekend. I took him & his friends to breakfast at Open City this morning before they set off for Williamsburg & the Outer Banks this morning.

First daffodils! My favorite flowers! Hangover or not, I can appreciate the daffodils any day.

Birthday party.
Not mine.
Still fun.

Street singer. One of my faves in awhile.

Leaving the hotel. Thank God.

Worked a three-night overnight seminar for high schoolers. Had to sit in the hallways until 2:00 a.m. Ordered a pizza circa 12:30. Yum/yuck.

Broken Metro in Van Ness -- ughhh. Doors wouldn't open at Woodley or Cleveland Park, so my car of people had to climb through the creepy, rattly exit into the next car, where the doors then refused to close. And so we were all booted off. Van Ness party!

Lying in bed midday watching TV on my laptop, I decided I'd try to be a little adventurous tonight, so I texted a few friends & asked if they'd want to try out a new restaurant tonight. At 7:00, five of us were sitting in a cozy corner cove at Oyamel, where we proceeded to feast on Mexican tapas & cocktails with tequila foam. They mix the guac at the table, & the tacos come out in little business card holder-like dishes.

YUM! I wanna go back.

Rachel & I trekked out to Silver Spring for a show by a local band, The Echo Boom. And on the way back, I had one of the grossest experiences of my life.

Under the category of "things you don't often find in the city" are TRAMPOLINES. I wasn't allowed on them as a kid, but now that I'm 24 & make my own decisions, thankyouverymuch, I opted to join the bouncing fun today with two friends on a trampoline out in Bowie, MD.

No, I didn't take today's photo, but I get to make the rules, right? I didn't take one because I knew I'd want to use one of these.

Also... I'm in the green. FYI?

It's been pretty nice out - nice enough to sell flowers on the street corner! This stand was set up outside the Cosi on the south side of Dupont Circle. Adorable!

Mar. 8th, 2009

I'll go see pretty much anything they play at the Uptown, even drivel like "Watchmen." If you don't have a theatre as cool as mine, though, DO NOT GO SEE IT. It was an atrocity.

Elissa's back in town! A few of us gathered in Dupont to welcome her back to the District after a long four months gone.

The first warm, sunny day in quite awhile!

Cutest thing I've seen all freakin' day - or ever - was my strict, serious & sometimes-scary boss playing hide & seek with his assistant's 4-year-old daughter. How darling is she?! I love this picture.

Been having a pretty crummy week. Listening to a lot of Jack's Mannequin, specifically "The Resolution."
I'm alive, & I don't need a witness
to know that I survived
I'm not lookin' for forgiveness, yeah,
I just need light; light in the dark as I search for a resolution.
And when that song gets too emo, I switch it up with Jesty Beatz' "Deal or No Deal 2" (fave tracks are "Spooktober," "Speakeasy" & "The Office). I met Mr. Beatz (a.k.a. Darrel) fall quarter of my freshman year at college, & he's on his way to the top, believe me. His music is KILLER, & you'll be doing yourself a favor to check it out. I'm not just saying that because I like him, although I do - he's also a stand-up guy.

Oh, & the iPod case? I bought it Saturday for $2.00 & am enduring all sorts of workplace harrassment about it. Thoughts?

A beautifully snowy day in America's capital city...

Mar. 1st, 2009

My coworkers rock it out - or something? - to some bizarrely happy song from "The Brady Bunch Movie" that I've never heard before but that they both knew all the words to.

I guess that kinda thing happens when you've been working all freaking weekend & then 11:00 p.m. on Sunday rolls around.

Havdallah at the Jefferson Memorial with a couple hundred Jewish high schoolers. It was meant to be candlelit, but the wind wasn't havin' it.
