I called my mom this afternoon & asked, "How do I make eggs?" She laughed at me (but helped). This photo obviously isn't of the eggs but is instead of the Boca crumbles & peppers I cooked up to go with them in my breakfast burrito. It wasn't a huge success, namely because I added some sort-of-gross pesto to the mix, but I guess you can't get 'em all right, eh? Anyway: I LOVE LEARNING TO COOK!

My friend Arielle had a birthday BBQ yesterday at her VERY nice apartment complex, where I was excited to spend some time with friends who I haven't seen nearly enough over the past year. One of them was my friend Jason, pictured below. I LOVE this photo!

My first trip to Ben's Chili Bowl! We went on a Thursday night, so it wasn't nearly as crowded as it usually is. Rachel & I split chili cheese fries, which was just enough. And SO tasty!

I recruited a few friends to go with me to the Warren Theatre at Metro Center to RENT. But this wasn't just any rendition of the '90s classic musical - this starred Anthony Rapp & Adam Pascal, the original Mark & Roger! It was amazing - & I cried like a baby, of course.

I moved! My first dish was slightly-charred chipotle chicken & turkey meatballs in spinach rigatoni with pesto & Parmesan. It tasted fine, but I had to eat it sitting on the floor because my friends hadn't yet arrived to help me move my furniture!

I made Rachel go to Quaker Steak & Lube, an Ohio wings staple, for dinner before we headed back to DC. To be honest, the wings weren't that great (bummer), but my Magna Fries & her soft pretzels made up for what the wings lacked. Yum!

I stayed in Columbus with my aunts for the weekend, but my mom made the 2-hour trip down to Ohio's capital to visit for the day. We went out to the Cheesecake Factory, where I ate 1/4 of a GIANT breakfast burrito, & took me shopping at Old Navy. Score!

My coworkers & friends Cara (far left) & Katie (far right) are both leaving our office for other ventures (a new job in NYC & grad school in Austin, respectively), but my place of employment has been known to throw a few helluva-good going-away parties. We organized a relay race for them that included a two-person Snuggie race that ended in Jello shots. The results:

I organized a little picnic in Kalorama Park to celebrate summer's arrival - ironically, it was an exceptionally cold day that left most of the picnic attendees shivering. That said, we had lots of fun & it was a nice way to spend a Sunday!

My friend Rafael was in town for a couple of days! We ate at Matchbox in Chinatown & then wandered the Mall for awhile, taking pictures of the District at night. Sometimes I'm struck all over again by how lucky we are to live in this country.

My friend Micaela organized a Rosh Chodesh group for a few of us girls. We tried to BBQ but got rained out, which was all right because we couldn't get the grill started anyway! Here's Jill lounging inside as we got ready for the seaosn finale of "Grey's Anatomy," which caused me to cry like a baby.

Rach had a bad day so she got drunk at my apartment while we watched "American Idol." And I stayed totally sober. Awkward. Happy Cinco de Mayo!
